  4. Search for "TPM header" or "TPM connector"

Step 3: Determine TPM Module Compatibility

  1. Download the motherboard manual from the support page of the mainboard

  2. Search for "TPM" in the manual (use Ctrl+F to search)

  3. Look for information about:

    • Pin layout (e.g., 12-1 Pin or 14-1 Pin)

    • Interface type (LPC or SPI)

Pin Layout

  • Count the total number of pins

  • Note any missing pins (e.g., 14-1 means 14 pins with 1 missing)

Interface Type

  • If pin names start or contain L or LPC, it's an LPC interface

  • If pin names start or contain S or SPI, it's an SPI interface

Step 4: Purchase a Compatible TPM Module

Use the information you've gathered to find a compatible TPM module. Look for:

  1. Correct pin count and layout (e.g., 14-1 Pin)

  2. Matching interface type (LPC or SPI)

  3. Compatibility with your motherboard brand (e.g., ASUS, MSI)
